Playhouse On The Square tickets & upcoming events

Looking for a theater with real character and a bit of Memphis charm? Playhouse On The Square is the place to be. Since debuting back in 1969, this beloved venue has been serving up top-notch performances that really get you in the feels. I mean, they first hosted the musical Sweeney Todd in 1999, with those super detailed Victorian set designs that made you feel like you stepped into the 19th century. And get this, in 2013 they installed a new sound system that totally upped the game, music sounded clearer and richer, making those Broadway-caliber shows even more immersive. Oh, and they didn’t stop there; in 2000 they wowed audiences with a revolving stage during a production of Beauty and the Beast, changing scenes seamlessly and keeping everyone on the edge of their seats. Plus, the theater’s outreach program started in 2014, bringing free shows to underserved neighborhoods across Memphis and Shelby County, talk about giving back. Whether you're hunting for a great night out or just want to see a show that feels like a Memphis tradition, Playhouse On The Square’s got you covered. The seating chart is super user-friendly, so snagging those perfect seats, whether front row or cozy VIP sections, is a breeze. Trust me, this place isn’t just about the performances, it’s about the vibe, the history, and making memories that stick with you long after the curtain falls.
